Guardians of the ribbon are a group of firefighters, police officers and leaders in the community. Their purpose is to raise awareness and money for the fight against cancer for the women of this country. Several pink fire trucks and firefighters dressed in pink tour the country each fall. They visited Leslie a week before her death at her home because she was too sick to come to them. View a clip of Leslie signing the truck named Elaine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9ymnLXM2E. There are plans to purchase a new truck and name it after Leslie.
Leslie's fellow officers formed a team for the annual Komen walk from the first year of her diagnosis. We will continue to walk each year in her memory and for support of the many other women battling breast cancer. To join our team, Heroes for Hulse, click here.
Leslie attended Heartland Church regularly. She often said she felt best on Sundays, even when she had endured a tough week.
